United Steelworkers Union Certifed at Entec
SAINT JOHN, NB, May 25, 2015 /CNW/ - The United Steelworkers (USW) have successfully unionized the workers at Entec Inc in Saint John. The New Brunswick Labour and Employment Board has now certified the seventy one workers who make natural gas boilers in the Saint John location.
Following the issuing of a interim relief order, the Labour and Employment Board has certified the Steelworkers as the union representing the workers.
"These workers worked hard to make sure they got the protection of a union. They should be congratulated for their effort and determination to win the right to bargain collectively," said Lawrence McKay, United Steelworkers Area Coordinator.
The workers at Entec deserve a voice in the workplace, a safe environment and fair compensation. Now they will have the ability to speak collectively and bargain a fair deal," said Marty Warren, USW District Director
