United Way of Regina Receives $214,000 from The Co-operators
REGINA, Dec. 21 /CNW/ - The Co-operators today announced that it has raised more than ever during its annual United Way campaign in Regina this year, with a total of $214,900 being donated to the local chapter. Through various fundraising events, staff members personally donated $110,300 and the company provided an additional $104,600 in corporate funds to surpass this year's goal by nearly $3,000.
Among the highlights of this year's local United Way campaign at the head office of Co-operators Life Insurance Company were a staff cup cake sale and a fundraising raffle that raised more than $5,000.
"The generosity of our staff members and their commitment to making their hometown of Regina a better place to live for everyone never ceases to amaze me," said Kevin Daniel, Chief Operating Officer of Co-operators Life. "The breadth of services provided by the agencies funded through the United Way ensures the funds we raise make a widespread and lasting impact in our community."
Through its network of 125 local chapters, the United Way helps to build caring communities, providing direct financial support to some 7,000 agencies across the country. These organizations provide a variety of health and social services, from prevention to counselling to crisis intervention. The United Way of Regina is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
Co-operators staff members across the country raised a total of $391,492 with corporate contributions, including a $50 donation on behalf of each staff member, topping $329,524. In total, The Co-operators directed $721,016 this year to United Way chapters across Canada.
