UNIVERSITY OFFICIALS TRYING TO SHUT DOWN STUDENT GOSSIP SITE ROOM110.COM!
TORONTO, Nov. 16 /CNW/ - http://www.Room110.com officially launched in Canada last week, as "the Gossip Girl-type" website for students, parents, and whomever to find out what really goes on behind closed doors at schools across Canada, and received hundreds of thousands of views from students.
Since the launch, officials for various schools across Canada have sent in letters trying to have certain aspects of the website removed. Furthermore, some schools have even gone through great lengths to try and block the website URL from their school's computers.
In a statement today, Derek Paul, a media relations rep. for Room110.com said, "Our website is the next evolution of how students can interact with one another and find out about the latest happenings in their community. Everyone talks about everyone, and now it can finally be done out in the open, in a fun, free environment."
Room110.com, which is user-driven website, allows students to register and then post "updates" about each other and current affairs at their school.
