MONTRÉAL, April 20, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Videotron has been apprised of today's decision by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) with respect to its Unlimited Music service. Videotron is disappointed by the decision.
Videotron believed in Unlimited Music and felt the service was responsive to the needs and interests of today's consumers. "We regarded Unlimited Music as a compelling example of innovation and diversification from a new market entrant seeking to differentiate itself from the dominant mobile carriers, to the benefit of Canadian consumers," commented Manon Brouillette, President and CEO of Videotron.
Videotron will study the decision in the coming days and determine how to proceed. Videotron assures customers who currently use the Unlimited Music service that it will be maintained until further notice. Customers will be advised of developments as soon as possible.
