LE PHARE DE QUÉBEC: A LARGE AND VIBRANT PUBLIC SPACE WITHIN ARCHITECTURE DESIGNED TO MAKE ITS MARK
QUEBEC CITY, Nov. 15, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Michel Dallaire, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Dallaire, presented at a press conference on Tuesday the evolution of Le Phare de Québec, which will be built on Boulevard Laurier.
The Groupe Dallaire vision is now comprised of four towers, each featuring a distinctive architectural design for a more harmonious densification of the site. "We have taken the concept a step further to ensure the best project possible. Our teams have worked with internationally recognized architects, and together they have refined the product," explained Michel Dallaire, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Dallaire.
In addition, to ensure the project integrates seamlessly into the community and its surrounding environment, the public space has been opened up, facilitating access by all citizens. More inviting, spacious and sun-lit, it will place a greater emphasis on letting in the natural elements, including breeze and sunshine.
Groupe Dallaire, which for 30 years has contributed to the development of the Boulevard Laurier business hub, continues to think long-term for this area. "Our intention has always been to remain a major player in the development of the downtown business district," added Mr. Dallaire. "Our goal now is to ensure the best possible connection between Le Phare de Québec and the neighbourhood. Our vision goes beyond a simple structure; we view Le Phare de Québec as a living environment. We are building with full regard for the rapid evolution of society and the fact that the Laurier sector will continue to thrive and develop over the coming 30 years."
During the press conference, Mr. Dallaire announced the addition of a 750-seat multimedia concert hall featuring world-class acoustics. Steve Barakatt, internationally-renowned artist, will oversee the hall's development and content as its creative director. The objective of Groupe Dallaire remains to offer more than two million square feet of mixed-use space, including residential and leased units, a 150-room hotel, commercial and office space. A restaurant on the top floor, and a public observation deck on the top two floors.
Groupe Dallaire is presenting the updated version of Le Phare to enable citizens to offer informed opinions when the City of Quebec holds its public consultations.
