MONTRÉAL, Aug. 28, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - When you visit the Jardin botanique, Insectarium, Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan or Biodôme, it's hard to imagine everything going on behind the scenes in terms of research and discoveries about nature, the animals, biodiversity and the collections. But now you can find out for yourself! From September 2018 to April 2019, Espace pour la vie is inviting visitors to a series of original, relaxed encounters with some of its many researchers and experts, the very ones who are at the forefront of all sorts of innovative and fascinating research projects aimed at helping humanity better understand and protect the nature around us.
Come meet the experts, one Saturday a month
The Up Close with an Expert series will give participants exceptional access to the researchers and experts, since groups will be limited to about 30 people. Visitors will be able to peek behind the scenes and learn about research or conservation projects, and ask questions about all the things they've always wanted to know.
Schedule and topics
There are four meetings scheduled for 2018, described briefly below. (In French only)

André Grandchamps, astronomer, astronomy information representative and the person in charge of the meteorite collection at the Planétarium Rio Tinto Alcan, and Gaétan Cormier, meteorite dealer and amateur astronomer, will give visitors a peek into a little-known world and share the unusual stories of these extraterrestrial objects, and how they are tracked down and collected.
