CHÂTEAUGUAY, QC, Oct. 28, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ) wishes to inform road users of upcoming lane closures on the Honoré-Mercier Bridge.
This Wednesday, October 29th, from 8 AM to 4 PM, the access ramp towards Châteauguay (route 138 west) will be reduced to one lane. This lane closure is required for cleaning work of the safety barriers.
From Friday, October 31st, 10 PM, to Monday, November 3rd, 5 AM, interventions on the safety barriers over the upstream bridge will cause the complete closure of both westbound lanes (towards the South Shore). There will be contraflow traffic during this period, with one lane opened in each direction. The access ramp from Airlie Street will be closed as well.
These interventions might be cancelled or postponed due to weather conditions or operational constraints.
The Honoré-Mercier is under both provincial and federal jurisdictions. For more information, take a look at the Ministère des Transports du Québec's (MTQ) web page and at the Jacques Cartier Champlain Bridges Incorporated's (JCCBI) web site.
The ministère des Transports invites the public to plan their trips safely by visiting www.quebec511.info before departure.
