Update - Body recovered from vehicle fire in Essa Township
Homicide Victim Identified
ESSA, ON, Aug. 26, 2013 /CNW/ - On Sunday August 25, 2013 at approximately 6:15 am, Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with members of the Essa Township Fire Department responded to a report of a car on fire in the area of Scotch Line and County Road 21.
The male located in the vehicle is now considered to be a victim of homicide and has been identified as 39-year-old Herminder BHANDAL of Brampton, Ontario.
The joint investigation is being conducted by members of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), under the direction of Detective Inspector Colleen McCormick and the Peel Regional Police Homicide Unit.
This investigation is ongoing at this time and further information will be released as it becomes available.
