The company is collaborating closely with the City and Coop Sainte-Anne
MONTREAL, April 11, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Further to the unfortunate incidents that have occurred in recent days, Maitre Carré wishes to advise that it is working closely with the stakeholders involved in this matter. The foundation of the Coop Sainte-Anne in Griffintown collapsed late last week. Engineers from the City and Coop examined the problem and made a joint decision that for reasons of safety, demolition of the Coop was the only possible option.
The demolition was carried out yesterday evening. Maitre Carré, which is responsible for the neighbouring Brickfields project, is a responsible company that, since its founding, has done its utmost to conserve and protect heritage sites. We take this situation very seriously and are distressed by this unfortunate event.
Maitre Carré will continue to collaborate with the City and the Coop Sainte-Anne.
