MONTREAL, May 7, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Originally launched in 1979 in Montreal, and subsequently in several other universities of the Université du Québec network, the Executive MBA program of UQAM's School of Management (ESG UQAM) has enjoyed remarkable international growth in 35 years. The program is now offered in a dozen countries, in French, English and Spanish.
"With more than 10,000 graduates in Quebec and around the world, this program has long been a legitimate source of pride for ESG UQAM and a symbol of our vision in an age of globalization," said Dean Stéphane Pallage.
International recognition
On the international scene, ten years ago, this program became the first Executive MBA (EMBA) from a foreign university accredited by the Central Government of the People's Republic of China. Since then, it has been offered, in partnership with the China University of Mining and Technology, in Shanghai, Xuzhou and Suzhou.
A partnership with the Université Paris-Dauphine allows students to obtain a double diploma from the two institutions. For the third consecutive year, this program recently earned the enviable title of best part-time EMBA in France, in the annual ranking of the SMGB Group.
In Poland, the Canadian EMBA (CEMBA), delivered in partnership with the Warsaw School of Economics, has led the Polish and Eastern European rankings for the past fifteen years.
"Aimed at experienced managers, ESG UQAM's Executive MBA program is closely linked to the realities of the business world," says Professor Robert Desmarteau, director of the program. "Instead of inventing cases for our courses, we use real cases from the student-managers' workplace, the results of which can actually benefit their company."
In addition to the MBA in General Management and the MBA in Financial Services, ESG UQAM offers the following specializations:
- Collective Enterprises
- Corporate Finance
- Fashion Management
- Technology Management
- Management of Cities and Metropolises
- Real Estate
- Accounting Sciences
The program format enables students to balance work, family and education, with classes held one weekend a month, from Friday to Sunday, over a two-year period.
A 35-Year Reunion for the ESG UQAM MBA will be held on May 29, under the honorary presidency of Martin Thibodeau (MBA 2002), President, Quebec Headquarters, RBC Royal Bank.
New applications for the program will be accepted until May 15, 2014.
