Uracan continues to expand the Double S Zone with significant mineralized
intercepts
Highlights: Intercepts include: 345.1 PPM (.035%) U3O8 over 22.03 meters and 120.3 PPM (0.012%) U3O8 over 74.15 meters TSX-V: URC
Uranium mineralization on the property continues to occur as broad multiple stacked mineralized zones hosted by granites and pegmatites, with significant drilled widths ranging from 9 meters to 74.15 meters. Uranium grades range from 96 ppm (0.010%) to 345 ppm (0.035%) U3O8.
Double S Drilling
A total of 4,181.3 meters in 15 diamond drill holes was completed from June to September of this year. Uracan's summer drilling objective was achieved by expanding the Double S zone mineralization to the southeast. Of the 9 drill holes with returned assays, 100% of the holes have intercepted significant near surface mineralization. These drill length intersections include:
- 141.2 ppm (0.014%) U3O8 over 53.0 m from surface in SS-09-88, - 120.3 ppm (0.012%) U3O8 over 74.15 m from 107.8 m in SS-09-90, - 101.0 ppm (0.010%) U3O8 over 41.18 m from 161.8 m in SS-09-91, - 345.1 ppm (0.035%) U3O8 over 22.03 m from 22.27 m in SS-09-92, - 96.0 ppm (0.010%) U3O8 over 53.0 m from 160.4 m in SS-09-95 Assay results from the remaining 6 holes will be released once they have been received. A summary of selected mineralized zones from the returned assays is included below: Assay Summary Quebec North Shore Property 2009 Summer Drilling ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Drill From To Length U U3O8 U3O8 Area Hole (m) (m) (m) ppm % ppm ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-88 0.5 53.5 53 120 0.014 141.2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-89 121.1 131.35 10.25 102 0.012 120.6 Double S SS-09-89 168.32 192 23.68 123 0.014 144.6 Double S SS-09-89 242.22 263.22 21 130 0.015 153.2 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-90 57.74 70.28 12.54 202 0.024 238.6 Double S SS-09-90 107.8 181.95 74.15 102 0.012 120.3 Double S SS-09-90 198.45 227.62 29.17 125 0.015 146.8 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-91 5.6 17.95 12.35 113 0.013 133.6 Double S SS-09-91 128.8 149.8 21 95 0.011 111.7 Double S SS-09-91 161.8 202.98 41.18 86 0.010 101.0 Double S SS-09-91 285.7 295 9.3 223 0.026 263.3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-92 22.27 44.3 22.03 293 0.035 345.1 Double S SS-09-92 106.88 124.88 18 117 0.014 138.3 Double S SS-09-92 197.33 206.33 9 90 0.011 105.9 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-93 2.95 14.95 12 130 0.015 153.2 Double S SS-09-93 59.1 69.96 10.86 129 0.015 151.5 Double S SS-09-93 96.95 116.64 19.69 105 0.012 124.4 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-94 6.3 16.8 10.5 132 0.016 156.0 Double S SS-09-94 59.6 70.1 10.5 114 0.013 134.3 Double S SS-09-94 122.16 135.36 13.2 93 0.011 109.7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-95 160.4 213.4 53 81 0.010 96.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-96 Assays Pending ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-97* 197 210.75 13.75 128 0.015 151.5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-98 Assays Pending ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-99 Assays Pending ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-100 Assays Pending ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-101 Assays Pending ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Double S SS-09-102 Assays Pending ------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Drill hole SS-09-97 has only partial results returned to date. Full results will be released once they have been received.
Drill hole location information and a complete listing of assay results will be posted on the Uracan website: www.uracan.ca.
An updated NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate, based on the new drilling completed in 2009, will be compiled once all results have been received later this year.
Grandroy and Turgeon Est
Drill results from Grandroy and Turgeon Est are pending and will be released once they have been received.
QA/QC
Samples were shipped by company personnel in sealed containers to Chemex Laboratories of Val D'Or,
A QA/QC program was implemented as part of the sampling procedure for the drill program. Field duplicates, field blanks and certified standards were inserted into the sample stream with at least one blank, one duplicate and one standard inserted per group of 40 samples sent to the laboratory. The laboratory also has an extensive in house QA/QC system as part of their quality control system.
