QUÉBEC CITY, Dec. 9, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The Bureau d'audiences publiques sur l'environnement (BAPE) commission on uranium industry issues in Québec will hold, on December 15, in Montréal, two public sessions in order to hear concerns about Aboriginal nations in southern Québec and those of Crees, Inuits and Naskapis in northern Québec. Those sessions will complete the briefs presentations phase, which is the third phase of this public hearing.
The BAPE will hold a session during the afternoon in order to hear Aboriginal nations from southern Québec. Then, the evening session will be about Aboriginal nations' issues in northern Québec. The BAPE inquiry commission will then chair with the James Bay Advisory Committee on the Environment (JBACE) commission and the Kativik Environmental Advisory Committee (KEAC) commission.
The BAPE inquiry commission is chaired by Louis-Gilles Francoeur, supported by Michèle Goyer and Joseph Zayed, commissioners. The JBACE commission, especially formed for this mandate, is chaired by Paul John Murdoch, supported by Mélissa B. Saganash, Manon Cyr and Jean Picard. Finally, the KEAC commission is chaired by Michael Barrett, supported by Betsy Palliser, Sylvie Létourneau and Claude Abel.
