Uranium One Announces Q1 2016 Production of 3.0 Million Pounds and an Average Total Cash Cost of $11 per Pound Sold
TORONTO, May 13, 2016 /CNW/ - Uranium One Inc. ("Uranium One") today reported quarterly headline revenue of $13.9 million for Q1 2016. Attributable revenue was $38.2 million for Q1 2016 based on sales of 1.0 million pounds of produced material at an average realized sales price of $33 per pound sold of produced material, with an average cash cost per pound sold of produced material at $11 per pound. Attributable production for the quarter was 3.0 million pounds.
Q1 2016 Highlights
Operational
- Total attributable production during Q1 2016 and in Q1 2015 was 3.0 million pounds.
- The average total cash cost per pound sold of produced material reduced to $11 per pound during Q1 2016, compared to $14 per pound during Q1 2015.
Financial
- Attributable sales volume of produced material for Q1 2016 was 1.0 million pounds sold, compared to 1.7 million pounds sold during Q1 2015.
- Headline revenue was $13.9 million in Q1 2016, compared to $57.8 million in Q1 2015.
- Attributable revenues consistent with the Corporation's segment reporting amounted to $38.2 million in Q1 2016, compared to $77.5 million in Q1 2015.
- The average realized sales price of produced material during Q1 2016 was $33 per pound, compared to $37 per pound in Q1 2015. The average spot price in Q1 2016 was $32 per pound compared to $38 per pound in Q1 2015.
- Gross profit totaled $10.6 million in Q1 2016, a 50% decrease compared to $21.2 million in Q1 2015, mainly due to a decrease of 41% in sales volume largely associated with the deferral of certain deliveries to subsequent quarters and a decrease of 12% in average realized sales price.
- The net earnings for Q1 2016 were $155.5 million or $0.16 per share, compared to a net loss of $12.3 million or $0.01 per share for Q1 2015.
- The adjusted net earnings for Q1 2016 were $2.8 million or $0.003 per share after exclusion of other income of $21.4 million, impairment of inventory of $6.6 million, net foreign exchange loss of $11.2 million, gain from business combination of $149.2 million and corporate development expense of $0.1 million, compared to an adjusted net loss of $19.0 million or $0.02 per share for Q1 2015.

During Q1 2016, Uranium One achieved total attributable production of 3.0 million pounds, the same as in Q1 2015.
