URGENT! ONTARIO RED ALERT! URGENT!

TORONTO, Dec. 14 /CNW/ - THE PROVINCE OF ONTARIO HAS EXTENDED A "RED ALERT" FOR AN IMMEDIATE THREAT IN THE AREA OF HIGHWAY 402 BETWEEN SARNIA AND LONDON.

Emergency Situation: A large winter storm has caused heavy snowfall, and is causing zero visibility conditions in an area between Sarnia and London. 

Recommended Actions: Emergency Management Ontario recommends that persons in the area described as Lake Huron to the north, Highway 401 to the south, Sarnia to the west, and London to the east avoid all unnecessary travel in the area.  There is a high risk of becoming stranded on roadways if driving is attempted. Do not call 911 for information about this emergency. Remain tuned to this station for further information and instructions.

This Red Alert broadcast request will end at 0500hrs, unless a further extension is requested.
