MONTREAL, Aug. 30, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - On the occasion of the Health and Social Services' Users Rights Week, which is to be held from September 22 to 30, 2016, the users' committees of the five new CIUSSS of the Island of Montreal will reach out to the population during an open day organized in collaboration with the Regroupement provincial des comités des usagers (RPCU). Throughout this Users Rights Day, representatives of Montreal's new users' committees will explain all the services that citizens can obtain from them as well as from the region's reorganized network's facilities.
Users Rights Day will take place on September 29, 2016, from 9am to 4pm at the Grande-Place du Complexe Desjardins in Montreal. Entrance is free.
Throughout the day, the public space dedicated to the event will be divided into 5 areas representing Montreal's five integrated University centers for Health and Social Services (CIUSSS) in which the respective committee will present their role and their work. People present will be able to profit from the expertise of their committee, notably in order to learn more on their rights as users. Special attention will be given to the right to lodge a complaint, which reflects the theme of the 2016 edition of the Users' Rights Week.
"We are very pleased to schedule this event for all Montrealers! Following a year marked by the network's reorganization, we felt the need to reach out to the citizens so they could get to know us better as well as fully exercise their rights. There will also be many surprises included in the official programming which we will be disclosing shortly. In the name of Montreal's new users' committees, I would like to invite the population to come and meet with us." declared the RPCU's Director General, Mr. Pierre Blain.
Let us keep in mind that the users and in-patients' committees are present in all of Quebec's Health and Social Services' institutions. Their mission, which is recognized in the Act respecting Health Services and Social Services, is to defend users' rights and to work to improve the quality of services being offered to the network's users.
