Government of Canada invests in a business in the Domaine-du-Roy RCM
SAINT-FÉLICIEN, QC, July 4, 2017 /CNW/ - [Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)] Businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources to create and commercialize innovative products. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting innovative Canadian enterprises. As a true economic driver, innovation is the key to success because it generates growth that benefits enterprises and communities.
Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, Denis Lemieux, Member of Parliament for Chicoutimi–Le Fjord, announced that Usinage Numérique Plus (website in French only) has been granted $305,075 in financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution, to improve productivity and expand.
Founded in 1979, Usinage Numérique Plus provides rapid machining services and manufactures and repairs all types of hydraulic cylinders; its products are of the highest quality. Its clientele consists mainly of original equipment manufacturers for aluminum smelters, forest equipment manufacturers, high-end hydraulic cylinder manufacturers and equipment manufacturers for wood processing plants.
The funding awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP) has helped Usinage Numérique Plus acquire a 5-axis vertical machining centre, including the specialized equipment and software needed for its operation, and to fit up the building so the centre can be installed.
CED is one of six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
