VICTORIA, July 2, 2013 /CNW/ - Today, development organization World Vision launches its Just One Child sponsorship campaign throughout Vancouver Island. From July 2 until September 30, residents of the Island will come together in an effort to find sponsors for at least 1,500 children from around the world, including countries like the Philippines.
The people of Vancouver Island have already proven how generous they are toward children in need, with almost 14,000 island residents collectively sponsoring almost 18,000 children around the world. Individually, each sponsorship of just $39 a month provides children access to basic necessities such as education, clean drinking water and nutritious food.
