Veridian Employees Set New United Way Campaign Record

AJAX, ON, Dec. 22 /CNW/ - Veridian employees wrapped up their annual United Way fundraising campaign this week, having achieved record contributions totaling $50,333 . The 2009 results represent an almost doubling of the annual amount raised since 2005.

Diana Hills-Milligan, Veridian's United Way Campaign Coordinator, reported the results at the employee holiday potluck luncheon on Thursday December 17th . "Together, we have raised almost $330,000 for the United Way since Veridian's inception in 1999," she said. "I'm very proud of the support that we've provided to the communities that we serve. We're making a real difference to the lives of people who rely on local agencies funded by the United Way."

Veridian's United Way fund raising campaign was generously supported by employee contributions and various fundraising events held at the Veridian offices. According to Michael Angemeer, Veridian's President and CEO, "I was particularly impressed to learn that more than 55% of our staff signed up for our payroll deduction program. For a company with just over 200 employees, Veridian has delivered a huge helping hand to the 2009 United Way Campaign.
