Veridian kicks-off annual Sign Up & Save Summer Tour this weekend in
Pickering
AJAX, ON, June 4 /CNW/ - Veridian Connections will kick-off its annual Sign Up & Save Summer Tour this weekend at the Pickering Rotary Ribfest, June 4 to 6, at Esplanade Park (located behind City Hall). The 12 week tour to events and festivals in communities served by Veridian will provide customers the opportunity to learn valuable information on energy conservation initiatives.
Visitors to the Veridian booth can learn how to save both energy and money by participating in Veridian's conservation programs, and will also have the opportunity to win some great prizes. A grand prize of an electric lawnmower with a solar charger, valued at approximately $800, will be awarded at the end of the Summer Tour. The first 100 visitors to the booth each day will receive a free energy savings giveaway.
"We are very excited to have Veridian's Tour Team join us at Pickering's Rotary Ribfest to educate area residents on Veridian's conservation programs and the simple actions they can take to reduce energy use," said Mayor David Ryan. "We all have an obligation, for ourselves and for future generations, to do whatever we can to reduce our environmental impact. Building a culture of conservation is good for the environment and reduces strain on the local electricity distribution system during peak periods of demand."
The Sign Up & Save Summer Tour makes it easy for Veridian customers to take part in a variety of its conservation initiatives such as peaksaver(R), The Great Refrigerator Roundup, Solar Generation and e-billing services. "It's important that we provide responsible energy conservation choices to our customers, and we are looking forward to connecting with them during this summer tour," explained Eryn Wishnowski, Veridian's Conservation Program Representative. "We will have information and material on a wide range of topics, from energy efficient lighting, appliances and electronics to insulation and water conservation. We have the resources to help customers reduce their energy use and lower their energy bills."
