RESUSCITATION GUIDELINES FOR CPR AND ECC

STORY SUMMARY:  The new 2010 Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) will be published in a supplement to Circulation: Journal of the American Heart Association at 12:30 a.m. ET, Oct. 18, 2010. The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, co-author of the guidelines, will also reveal the results of its new poll which surveyed more than 2000 Canadians across the country on the barriers that impede them from using CPR to revive or resuscitate a person in cardiac arrest.

Embargoed materials and polling results will be available to qualifying media Oct. 12. CPR experts, cardiac arrest survivors/rescuers and CPR instructors will be available for pre-interviews.
