Villa Maria High School Curriculum Redesign - Four new study profiles available to students Français
MONTRÉAL, Aug. 31, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - With the back-to-school season in full swing, Villa Maria High School is reviewing its pedagogical programs and preparing to offer its students four new study profiles for the 2018-2019 school year. In a world in constant evolution, Villa Maria seeks to adapt its educational programs to match the interests of its students while preparing them for the future.
"We take our students success to heart, which is why we are delighted to offer them different academic profiles related to their interests and current contemporary challenges. In addition to providing students with better tools for the future, the new educational profiles will allow them to focus on innovative fields of study," notes Lynda da Silveira, Director of Educational Services.
Next year, students will have the opportunity to pursue their studies in one of the four following profiles:
- STEAM: a program integrating science, technology, engineering, the creative arts and mathematics in an applied interdisciplinary approach.
- Health Sciences: in-depth scientific training allowing students to acquire knowledge in the lab, critical thinking abilities and analytical skills supported by a strong foundation in chemistry and biology.
- Entrepreneurship and Leadership: a program centred on economics, business law, leadership skills, innovation and globalization, for students interested in the world of business.
- Law and International Studies: a program addressing international relations, politics, law, globalization, history and the contemporary world.
"Boasting a rich history, our establishment has traditionally been at the cutting edge of changes generated by technological developments and the rise of globalization. It became important to us, therefore, to assert our leadership position by renewing our programs and adapting our model to the challenges of today's world," states Marie Anna Bacchi, Director General.
