Vincent Boucher's inaugural concert, new titular organist at Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal Français
MONTREAL, April 15, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - In this season of renewal, the management of Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal is pleased to present the inaugural concert of its new titular organist, Mr. Vincent Boucher, Sunday, April 19 at 3:30 PM. Officially assuming his position since February 1, Mr. Boucher wishes to offer organ music lovers a program both varied and classical, that will highlight the unique sound of the great Beckerath organ of the Basilica. He will perform works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Dietrich Buxtehude, Nicolas De Grigny and Charles Tournemire in addition to the grand premiere of a creation by Quebec composer Éric Champagne. Not to mention the participation of the male voice choir Les Chantres musiciens under the direction of Gilbert Patenaude, who will perform Gregorian themes that inspired two works by Charles Tournemire.
Vincent Boucher will also take the opportunity to release a compilation album under label Atma Classique: Vincent Boucher à l'orgue which includes works by Bach, Daquin, Pärt, Scarlatti, Tournemire, Tomasi and Vivaldi.
Carrying on a great tradition, Vincent Boucher will continue presenting Sunday organ concerts taking on the Artistic Direction of this series that is now in its 55th season.
