SANTA MONICA and HOLLYWOOD, CA, Feb. 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Rullingnet Corp., home of VINCI Early Learning Systems, and The Jim Henson Company, producers of "Sid the Science Kid," will jointly introduce young children to the fun of everyday science learning. The new initiative will provide continued support to the hit PBS KIDS series on air and online, and will also expand its reach with additional community events and content for VINCI Early Learning Systems including videos for the upcoming VINCI Kids Library and newly created mobile apps.
"Sid the Science Kid" is the EMMY®-nominated preschool educational television series and online destination that debuted on PBS KIDS in 2008. Each episode focuses on a single scientific concept that is presented using Preschool Pathways to Science (PrePS©), a practical science readiness curriculum used in preschool classrooms that was created by cognitive researchers and preschool educators, incorporating lessons learned from developmental research and classroom experience.
Rullingnet Corp., home of VINCI, pioneers mobile learning for toddlers and preschoolers through specifically designed touchscreen Early Learning Systems and age-relevant VINCI Curriculum which focuses on building young children's learning capabilities. VINCI Curriculum covers Thinking Skill, Language, Maths, Emotional/Social Learning, General Knowledge and Science. VINCI develops learning content based on the world and the everyday life of a young child.
"VINCI embraces the idea that learning opportunities are present in every aspect of a young child's life and this idea is at the very core of 'Sid the Science Kid,'" said Peter Schube, President & COO of The Jim Henson Company. "Aligning our beloved property with VINCI in this integrated partnership provides our audience with more ways to play and learn with Sid and his friends in this cutting-edge digital space."
"We are so excited to bring 'Sid the Science Kid' to VINCI Early Learning Systems. Our philosophy and goals for early childhood education are so closely aligned that I truly believe 'Sid the Science Kid' will play a significant role in complementing VINCI Curriculum," said Dr. Dan D. Yang, Creator of VINCI.
