Cardholders get VIP treatment and access to unique offers and experiences
TORONTO, Nov. 10 /CNW/ - Visa today announced a new sponsorship designating Visa Infinite as the official payment card of the 2011-2013 seasons at the Shaw Festival, one of Canada's most renowned theatre companies, celebrating its 50th season in 2011.
The sponsorship offers Visa Infinite cardholders exclusive access to the best seats in the house for the upcoming season through a special pre-sale period. Between December 4 and 23, 2010, cardholders have the opportunity to order tickets before the general public, simply by contacting the Shaw Festival Box Office and using their Visa Infinite card. Additionally, cardholders who purchase tickets or a Shaw Festival membership will receive 20 per cent off Shaw Festival - The First 50 Years, a commemorative book celebrating the Shaw Festival's rich 50 year history. To order tickets, call 1-800-511-8429 or visit shawfest.com.
"The Visa Infinite card is not just about rewards, it's about benefits, savings and one-of-a-kind experiences," said Brenda Woods, Head of Marketing, Visa Canada. "The sponsorship of the Shaw Festival exemplifies Visa's commitment to the arts and is just another way we're shining a spotlight on our cardholders by offering them access to unique Canadian cultural events."
The Shaw Festival's Executive Director, Colleen Blake, says "This is an exciting time for everyone associated with The Shaw and we are thrilled to have Visa Infinite join us to launch this sponsorship during our landmark 50th season. As one of North America's premier performing arts organizations, the Shaw Festival is proud to be working with our dedicated sponsors, such as Visa Infinite, who recognize the value of the arts in Canada."
Each year, the Shaw Festival produces and presents the work of Bernard Shaw, as well as other playwrights of his era, in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, between April and October and attracts nearly 300,000 theatre-lovers each season. In 2011, the Festival will feature some of Bernard Shaw's most celebrated plays, including Heartbreak House, Candida, On the Rocks and new spin on the popular musical, My Fair Lady, adapted from Shaw's classic, Pygmalion.
