REGINA, Aug. 30, 2018 /CNW/ - Viterra Inc. ("Viterra") is pleased to announce that it is continuing its partnership with STARS air ambulance to sponsor its 2019 fundraising calendar. Viterra has sponsored the STARS calendar campaign since 2015 by covering the full printing costs of each of the more than 70,000 calendars sold across Western Canada every year.
The calendars will be available for purchase at most Viterra facilities in Western Canada. This year's campaign kicked off at STARS' Regina base at an event with officials from each organization, employees and local media.
"At Viterra we recognize the critical importance of first responders and the inspirational work they do on the front lines to help people every day," said Kyle Jeworski, President and CEO of Viterra North America. "Viterra and STARS have worked together for several years, and through the strength of our continued partnership, we're pleased to do our part to help make a difference in the lives of patients in rural communities across Western Canada."
The annual STARS calendar campaign is a long-standing and important fundraiser for STARS. The campaign is entering its 26th year and has raised millions of dollars to-date with over 500,000 door-to-door visits made each year.
"Fighting for the lives of our patients is a team effort, and Viterra's sponsorship of the STARS calendar directly contributes to our success," said Andrea Robertson, STARS president and CEO. "Our calendar features stories of courageous patients, while raising funds to ensure we can be there for the next person who needs us."
The calendars will be available until December at most Viterra locations, as well as online at starscalendar.ca and at all STARS bases. Those interested in purchasing a calendar, or making a donation to STARS, can contact their local Viterra facility for more information.
