MONTREAL, Dec. 12, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Desjardins Group and its partners are proud to present the four winners of the VIVA MTL contest. The winners were announced last night during the Montréal s'allume show, which kicked off Montreal's 375th anniversary celebrations. The winners of each of the four categories were awarded a $10,000.
The goal of the contest was to highlight the city's best and brightest. "VIVA MTL was Desjardins's way of bolstering our city's pride. I think it's safe to say that we did just that! In fact, the contest garnered more attention than we had anticipated," said Sylvie Audet, Special Projects Manager at Desjardins Group. "With 467 applicants and 12 finalists, we discovered lots of inspiring people who make a difference in their community."
Since its launch on January 28, VIVA MTL has been very successful:
- We've met more than 5,000 people.
- We've made 38 appearances at Montreal events.
- We received 467 nominations.
- We selected 12 finalists.
- One candidate received an honourable mention.
- We received more than 60,000 votes from the public.
