Volunteer Program - Tax Volunteers network: Get involved!

MONTREAL, Jan. 9, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Québec are looking for organizations and volunteers to participate in the Volunteer Program, a partnership between the two Agencies since 1988.

Under this Program, volunteers receive a training to help complete simple tax returns for those individuals in need who are unable to complete their income tax and benefit returns themselves and are unable to call upon specialists.

Each year, the volunteers' efforts allow thousands of low-income individuals to meet their tax responsibilities, as well as receive the credits, refunds, and benefits to which they are entitled on time. Last year, some 3,500 volunteers and hundreds of organizations helped almost 152,000 people complete their federal and provincial tax return.
