Canadian pet nutrition company donating $50,000 to relieve local pet shelters during the pandemic crisis.
ELMIRA, ON, April 23, 2020 /CNW/ - Nutram Pet Products, a Canadian pet nutrition company located and produced in Elmira, Ontario, Canada, has recognized the increasing need for pet shelter funding during the global pandemic, and will be donating $50,000 to Canadian pet shelters.
While Canadians are learning to adapt to a new routine during these unfamiliar times, many households are making big decisions on pet ownership. Canadian pet shelters are seeing an increase in surrendered pets due to job loss and constrained income. They're also seeing an increased interest in adoption and foster families for households seeking companionship. Many families are viewing this as a positive opportunity to explore adoption and fostering while they can now dedicate more time to adapt a pet into the family.
With the increased number of pets surrendered to shelters and finding new homes creates an increased need for everyday care necessities, including vaccinations, spaying or neutering, food and nutritional requirements.
Nutram has recognized the challenge many shelters are facing, and will be donating $50,000 to registered pet shelters to help support the cause. They have launched Vote for Humane Kind, an online voting campaign for the community to nominate a shelter in need. The top 10 community-voted registered pet shelters across Canada will each receive $5,000 towards their pet care needs.
Voting can be done online at www.nutram.com/vote until May 31, 2020 11:59 PM EST.
