Elections Ontario Reminds Electors of Advance Voting Options for the February 13 By-Elections
TORONTO, Jan. 27, 2014 /CNW/ - Voters in Niagara Falls and Thornhill may have plans to escape the cold, but that's no reason to miss out on the February 13 by-elections. Voting by mail is just one of the many options Elections Ontario offers to make voting easy.
To vote by mail, electors must apply for their Special Ballot Kit no later than 6:00 p.m. (ET) on February 7, and ballots must be received by Elections Ontario no later than 6:00 p.m. (ET) on February 13.
Electors can vote at an advance poll between February 1 and February 7. Electors can choose to vote in advance using assistive voting technology between February 2 and February 12 at the local returning office. Assistive voting technology allows voters to cast their ballot secretly and independently.
Electors can also vote by mail or in person at the local returning office by Special ballot. Applications are available on our website, by phone or in person at the returning office. Voting at the local returning office ends on the day before election day, at 6:00 p.m. (ET).
Canadian citizens who reside in the Niagara Falls or Thornhill electoral districts and will be 18 years of age or older on election day are eligible to vote.
