WagJag turns the power of group-buying into group-giving
Site matching donations dollar for dollar to SickKids Hospital throughout holiday season
TORONTO, Dec. 23 /CNW/ - For eight days in December, WagJag.com, one of Canada's largest group-buying websites, will be giving their daily deal to The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). Visitors to WagJag.com between December 24th and 31st will have the option to donate to SickKids, and WagJag will match their donation, dollar for dollar (up to $100 per customer and $50,000 in total). That means for a donation of $50 to SickKids, WagJag will match it, giving an additional $50.
"WagJag is all about giving and getting great deals, and the holiday season is an important time to make charity a part of that process," says Jeremy Zuker, General Manager of WagJag. "We hope that hundreds of WagJaggers across the GTA will come together and give big to such a worthy organization as SickKids."
Group-buying sites like WagJag have quickly become popular online shopping tools. A company offers a deal that is available within a limited timeframe and specifies a minimum number of people required to participate. As long as the minimum number of people make the purchase, everyone gets to take advantage of the deal. Local WagJag deals are emailed out to subscribers everyday.
Anyone interested in participating in the WagJag group-giving to SickKids, visit WagJag.com between December 24th and 31st and make a donation.
