MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 28, 2012 /CNW/ - Walmart Canada will drop the prices on more than 10,000 products across its stores throughout July in by far the largest monthly Rollback pricing campaign in the company's 18-year history, the retailer announced today.

"Customers have told us summer is an extremely important period to save money for things like family vacations, staycations at home, or trips to the cottage. The common theme we hear is everyone is looking and needing to save money now, before the autumn back to school season begins."
In the Grocery area alone, Walmart will Rollback pricing on close to 3,000 items from dry goods to fresh produce. Thousands of additional Rollback prices will be implemented across the retailer's stores including Apparel, Electronics, Health and Wellness, Hardware and Home Merchandise.
"By driving efficiencies throughout our operations as well as partnering and negotiating with our fantastic network of suppliers, we will pass on unprecedented savings to our customers this summer," said Mr. Tappenden.
Rollback prices are designed to reduce Walmart's standard everyday low pricing to an even greater value for the customer during key periods. Rollback prices last for at least a month and can be implemented for as long as three months.
