Walmart Canada names Christine Jalbert Pharmacist of the Year for Western Canada
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 11, 2012 /CNW/ - Walmart Canada today announced Christine Jalbert, pharmacy manager, Regina North Supercentre, has been named Pharmacist of the Year for Western Canada. The award recognizes a pharmacist who goes beyond the expectations of the day-to- day profession and contributes to the advancement of the profession. Nominees are evaluated based on a number of criteria including: specialist designations, community involvement and patient testimonials.
Christine Jalbert joined Walmart in 2003 as a pharmacy student working at the Regina East store. In 2005, she graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and started working full time as a staff pharmacist at the Regina South store. In 2012, she accepted the role of Pharmacy Manager at the Regina North Supercentre.
She is a certified diabetes and respiratory educator as well as a quit smoking expert. In 2011, she worked with various health care professionals in the community on a number of educational programs including diabetes, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
"As a pharmacist, I'm committed to enhancing the pharmacy experience for the patients I serve," said Christine Jalbert, pharmacy manager, Regina North Supercentre.
