Walmart Canada stores to open around the clock until Christmas Eve
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Dec. 2 /CNW/ - Walmart Canada today announced that it will operate 193 of its 323 stores nationwide around the clock in December. More than half of Walmart stores will open their doors on December 3 and leave them open until closing time on Christmas Eve.
"For Canadians, the economy remains top of mind and our customers continue to be selective and focused on value," said Jim Thompson, chief operating officer for Walmart Canada. "Our mission has always been to save Canadians money. This year, Walmart Canada has already had a record number of price drops, and we expect that trend to continue throughout this holiday season."
In recent years, Walmart Canada has offered 24-hour shopping during the Christmas shopping period. For everyone from busy moms to shift workers, flexible hours, one-stop shopping and everyday low prices continue to make Walmart stores a top destination for holiday shoppers year after year. For the fourth year in a row, Walmart Canada was ranked the holiday retailer of choice for Christmas shoppers with 66 per cent of respondents planning to shop at Walmart stores according to Maritz Research Canada's 2010 Holiday Shopping Poll.
