MISSISSAUGA, ON, May 1, 2013 /CNW/ - Walmart Canada has declared May 2 its own national day of savings, to bring some fun to budgeting and saving.
To kick off the day, Walmart Canada will host the first-ever Frugal Heroes Challenge, where bloggers from coast-to-coast will find cost-effective solutions to every day budget challenges. Canadians are invited to join the Challenge, share their own budgeting tips and follow the action on facebook.com/walmartcanada and on Twitter (#WalmartFrugalHeroes).
"The Frugal Heroes Challenge brings some fun to budgeting and saving and is part of Walmart's promise to help Canadians save money and live better," said Shelley Broader, president and CEO of Walmart Canada. "This initiative is a way for us to bring saving money to life. We are looking forward to seeing how Canadian bloggers stay on budget at Walmart on May 2."
Walmart Canada issued the challenge to bloggers to embark on their own personal savings challenge—from buying healthy groceries, to outfitting their family, to decorating a room or outdoor living space. This challenge is part of a year-long campaign to make 2013 the Year of Saving Money at Walmart.
