Canadian kids share their picks for the best toys to give this year
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 2, 2015 /CNW/ - What happens when kids get to test the latest and greatest toys before the holidays? They tell you what they really want to find under the Christmas tree. Walmart Canada is proud to share its annual Top 20 Toys list – the definitive list, as selected by the experts, Canadian kids.
Kids from eight months to 12 years old worked hard to test, play with, review and make parents' jobs that much easier. With more than 500 families participating in the fourth annual Walmart Toy Testers event held in Toronto, parents can trust that these toys are solid selections.
"Having kids choose the Top 20 Toys list makes Walmart uniquely qualified to help parents out this holiday season," said Sam Wankowski, senior vice president of hardlines, seasonal, electronics and entertainment at Walmart Canada. "We know these toys will be popular, so parents can rest assured that stores and Walmart.ca will be well-stocked."
What makes a Top 20 Toy? Kids and parents fill out surveys for more than 100 toys rating educational value, age appropriateness, ease of use, how the child reacts to the toy and even if mom and dad like it. From winners such as Fisher-Price's Little People Farm to the PlayDoh Minion Barber Shop to the Star Wars®, the LEGO Naboo Star Fighter, parents are sure to find toys that kids of all ages will love at Walmart.
"Making wishes come true is a big deal at Christmas and we want to help parents wrap up the perfect presents for under the tree," said Bren Baldock, senior director of toys and chief toy officer at Walmart Canada. "With so many toys to choose from, we know our list of top toys will make toy shopping easier and less stressful, giving parents more time to enjoy the season."

Age group: 8 to 23+ months
