"Mr. Yeme" and "Hendrickson TD Insurance" are not licensed to do insurance business in Ontario
TORONTO, July 16, 2014 /CNW/ - The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) is warning consumers that Hendrickson TD Insurance and an individual known as Mr. Yeme are not licensed to do insurance business in Ontario.
This individual appears to be selling false auto insurance under the company Hendrickson TD Insurance. The individual also provided a phone number, 647-461-5540 and has been communicating via text messaging.
It should be noted that Hendrickson TD Insurance is not affiliated or associated with TD General Insurance Company or TD Home and Auto Insurance Company, which are licensed by FSCO.
Consumers should exercise caution if they are contacted by anyone from these coordinates.
If consumers purchase items or insurance from agents or insurers that are not licensed in the province, they are not protected under the Insurance Act and the regulations that govern Ontario's licensed insurance companies and agents.
An Ontario insurance agent or broker can provide information and advice on the risks involved with purchasing different insurance products, as well as tips on avoiding auto insurance sales scams.
