Pan Am Games Tickets Go On Sale Monday, December 8
TORONTO, Dec. 5, 2014 /CNW/ - Just in time for holiday gift giving, the hottest tickets for the summer of 2015 will go on sale Monday, December 8 at 1 p.m. ET. Now's the time to get your tickets to be part of the Pan Am Games action and join in on the largest international multi-sport event ever hosted in Canada. Sales in the early access period were strong, but great seats are still available for those who act soon.
Already, 160,000 tickets have been snapped up by those who requested tickets in September's early access window. Thousands scored their dream seats for their favourite sports, including gold-medal matches and the Opening Ceremony, which will feature a one-night-only performance by Cirque du Soleil and the lighting of the cauldron. Almost 95 per cent of those who requested tickets saw their wishes for being at the Games fulfilled.
"There are so many ways that Ontarians and Canadians are embracing these Games — but none are as important as coming out to cheer on the athletes, see records broken and legends born," said Saäd Rafi, chief executive officer of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee (TO2015). "Canadian athletes need to hear your cheers and see our flag. The momentum and excitement are building, so get your ticket orders in now."
Competitions that capture the imagination of youth and make great family outings are going fast. Canoe/kayak – slalom, waterski & wakeboard, equestrian – jumping and cycling – BMX are already close to selling out.
Despite strong demand in the early access period, there are still tickets to some of the most popular sports, including football (soccer), rugby sevens, basketball, track and field, aquatics and artistic gymnastics. While some of the best gold-medal seats have been snapped up, there are still great seats available.
The TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games ticket program is designed to be affordable and accessible for everyone by offering:
Affordable pricing: Tickets start at just $20, with 75 per cent of tickets priced $45 and under.
Half-price tickets for persons under 16 years of age, or 65 and over: Tickets will be offered at a 50 per cent discount — some tickets will start at $10. The number of discounted tickets is limited, so buy early.

We're committed to making these the most accessible Games ever, giving all Ontarians a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see incredible top-level international competition right here at home. And, with 11 Games-time venues already open and serving athletes, communities and families across the province, the people of Ontario are already experiencing the benefits these Games are bringing."
Mayor John Tory, City of Toronto:
"Excitement is building in Toronto for the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games next summer. Our Canadian athletes will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to compete on home soil in front of family and friends. Toronto is thrilled to be the Proud Host City of the Games and looks forward to welcoming athletes and visitors from all over the Americas. Be sure to get your tickets while they last!"
Marcel Aubut, President, Canadian Olympic Committee:
"This international multi-sport event will feature the best athletes in the Americas coming to Toronto this summer. Trampoline gymnast Rosie MacLennan, London 2012 Olympic Gold Medallist and defending Pan American Champion:
"All athletes love to compete at home and there's a good reason for that – the home crowd! We don't often get the opportunity to compete on home soil, but when we do, there's a special feeling that comes from competing in front of the people who raised you, taught you, supported and encouraged you. It's even more special if we get to sing our anthem with the help of an entire stadium. We're getting ready to give it our all and I hope you'll buy tickets to see the action."
