Wayne Gretzky Endorses MP Patrick Brown for Leader of the PC Party of Ontario
Yes, that Gretzky. "The Great One."
BRAMPTON, ON, Feb. 23, 2015 /CNW/ - Today, the Patrick Brown Leadership Campaign is excited to announce that Hockey Hall of Famer, Wayne Gretzky, has endorsed Patrick Brown for leader of the PC Party of Ontario.
"I have known Patrick Brown for a number of years now," said Wayne Gretzky. "Hard working and dedicated, Patrick is a strong Conservative. He has the passion and vision to lead Ontario."
Coming on the heels of support from provincial and federal caucus members, youth leaders, and Party members, Gretzky's endorsement is an example of Patrick Brown's ability to reach beyond the Party's existing membership of 10,000 and to engage people from all walks of life in the future of Ontario politics. Brown is the only Leadership candidate who can breathe new life into the PC Party of Ontario and grow membership to 100,000.
"I am honoured to have support from Wayne Gretzky, a Canadian icon and one of the greatest athletes of our time," said Patrick Brown. "I am rebuilding the PC Party by reaching out to people outside our traditional voting base. I am connecting with people who share a vision of a better Ontario but who haven't felt at home with our Party, and those who have never been politically active before. Ontario is tired of the same old, same old and wants change. Together with the thousands of Ontarians that have already joined me, we are going to do something special and win in 2018."
