MONTRÉAL, Sept. 12, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - What are we made of? Where did we come from? In conjunction with its annual theme of Seeing the Big Picture, Montréal Space for Life is presenting an all-new multimedia show at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. We Are Stars seeks to answer our existential questions on the origins of life and the matter around us. Families will embark on a thrilling journey through time to explore the secrets of our cosmic chemistry and explosive origins, from the Big Bang to the present. Projected on the 360-degree dome of the Chaos Theatre, this 26-minute animated film has something for all ages as it reveals how our existence is intimately linked with the history of the Universe.
We Are Stars explains how nuclear fusion in the heart of the first stars built more complex elements out of simple atoms. The Time Master, narrated by Hollywood superstar Andy Serkis, takes us on a fabulous voyage spanning some 13.8 billion years, to an original soundtrack by New Zealand composer Rhian Sheehan.
The film, produced by NSC Creative, an award-winning UK multimedia animation studio, manages to transform complex scientific concepts into an entertaining visual adventure accessible to everyone. The animation process was overseen by a team of leading UK scientists, and based on computer simulation data on the formation of the Universe supplied by the Institute for Computational Cosmology at Durham University.
After seeing this show, audiences will never look at the skies in the same way, now that they know that we are all made of stardust!
