Wealth One Bank of Canada Announces New President and CEO
TORONTO, July 5, 2018 /CNW/ - Mr. Zool Samji, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wealth One Bank of Canada (WOBC), is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Dashu (Jack) Zhu as President and Chief Executive Officer.
Jack brings to WOBC a wealth of experience within the financial services industry, both in Canada and internationally. Earlier in his career, Jack served as a division head at the head office of Bank of China in Beijing, President and CEO of the Bank of China (Canada), and as the Executive Vice President and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Jiangsu Bank of China. Most recently, Jack has been the CEO at the Nagelmackers Bank in Belgium.
During his time as President and CEO of the Bank of China (Canada), Jack oversaw the Bank's significant growth in its retail service network within the Canadian Chinese community. He led the development of the bank's overall businesses, including its retail and commercial lending businesses. These changes reshaped the image of the Bank of China (Canada) within the Canadian Chinese community.
In accepting the appointment, Jack noted: "WOBC was established by a number of successful entrepreneurs from the Canadian Chinese community and it is focused initially on serving Canadian Chinese communities in Ontario and British Columbia. Canada has a large and growing Chinese community that is making important contributions to the economic well-being of the country. Chinese Canadians have a significant need for banking services. WOBC is extremely well positioned to understand the needs of our customers, actively innovates products and services, and cooperates with other financial institutions to become the preferred Bank for the Chinese community. The Board is honoured that Jack has accepted this important mandate to lead WOBC. In addition, the Board wishes to thank Ms. Marianne Taggio for her service as the interim President and CEO and welcomes her back to the Board in her new role as Chair of the Bank's Strategy Committee.
