MONTREAL, Jan. 25, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - A rich and diversified programming awaits you at the third weekend of the Fête des neiges presented by Tim Hortons. Come enjoy winter and celebrate our festive northern character at this family-oriented winter event that is part of Les Hivernales of Montreal's 375th anniversary.
THIS WEEKEND'S SPECIAL PROGRAMMING
Singer and finalist at the La Voix 2014, Remi Chassé will take the stage, Saturday at 2 p.m., to perform his debut album Debout, solely composed of original French songs. He will be followed at 4:30 p.m. by a lightsaber initiation presented by The Force Academy. Under the guidance of a Master, you'll learn the seven forms of lightsaber combat in this mythological world. The public is invited to bring their own lightsabers. However, 20 lightsabers will be lent at each session.
On Sunday, kids will be charmed by the shows of Pyjama Party scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. To the beat of original songs, children will be able to sing, dance and, support Jimmy and Mimi in their laugh-filled adventures!
Finally, on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Montreal Impact Soccer School will be on site to help you improve your technique throughout different soccer workshops.
MUST-DO ACTIVITIES
In addition to the action on the main stage, visitors can take part in various activities for the whole family. Kids and grown ups will have fun sliding down the tube slide, skating around the Biosphere, taking part in a boot hockey game, conquering the other team's fort in an epic snowball fight, trying their hand in a friendly round of dodgeball-like archery game, meeting Capitaine Crinière aboard the massive ice pirate ship, and much more!
Either on the Ferris wheel or at the top of the Tour de Lévis enjoy an incredible view of downtown Montreal. If you still have not challenged your fear of height enough after those two stops, the Zip-line is sure to give you the thrill you are looking for.
HAVE A BITE
Whether it is for a snack or for a hearty meal, many food trucks will be on site to fill all the appetites, including Das food Truck, Bacon Truck, Boîte à Fromages and Délices d'Antan. You can also roast marshmallows on the fire of a small grill known as a brasero or sip mulled wine on the terrace of the Chalet.
