OTTAWA, March 17, 2014 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of the Children's Aid Foundation of Ottawa is pleased to announce that Walter Noble has been appointed as its new Executive Director.
Walter comes to the Foundation from Invest Ottawa, where he worked as the Director of Corporate Partnerships. Prior to that, he worked for 20 years at the Ottawa Centre for Regional Innovation (OCRI), where he held a number of positions including Director of Membership and Sponsorship.
"The Children's Aid Foundation of Ottawa provides children and youth with opportunities that are critical to their impending success," stated Mr. Noble. "I'm excited to embark on this new adventure, and look forward to the many opportunities in supporting our communities' future talent." In addition to his skills and experience, Walter brings a passion for the work as an adoptive parent of two children.
Since 1988, CAFO has enhanced the lives of many children and youth of our community through enrichment and educational opportunities. Over the last 26 years, through the support of our donors, volunteers and local businesses, CAFO has distributed over $1.7M in bursary funds, providing youth with opportunities to a successful future. Over 6,000 children have had the chance to experience summer camp, participate in a sport or recreational activity, or join organizations such as Girl Guides or Boy Scouts. These opportunities help build confidence and develop new skills, all of which are critical in a child's development.
