OAKVILLE, ON, April 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Wendy's is - once again - shaking things up with the launch of Wendy's Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwiches. The new flatbread sandwiches - in North American Restaurants from March 26 to late May - are offered in two varieties, Asiago Ranch and Smoky Honey Mustard. Coinciding with the launch of the new sandwiches is the launch of Wendy's Friends, a new social engagement platform on Facebook.
"We're redefining the way consumers eat grilled chicken - with a multi-grain artisan flatbread that has superior quality and taste," said Paul Hilder, senior vice president, Wendy's Restaurants of Canada. "The flatbread adds flavour, texture and excitement to grilled chicken, creating a bold, distinctive taste you can't find anywhere else."
Wendy's worked with expert artisan bakers to create the perfect five-grain flatbread, which includes flax seeds, cracked wheat, rolled oats, millet and sesame seeds. The flatbread is warm and toasted on the outside, and soft and chewy inside. And, like all Wendy's sandwiches, the new Flatbread Grilled Chicken Sandwiches are made to order to allow for customers to customize their flatbread sandwich to suit their taste and dietary needs.
Both the Asiago Ranch and Smoky Honey Mustard varieties include a chicken breast with all-white meat grilled in Wendy's kitchens, topped with a spring mix featuring nine types of fresh greens and hand-sliced tomatoes that are juicy and full of flavour. The Asiago Ranch also includes Applewood-smoked bacon, Asiago cheese, and a dollop of creamy Asiago ranch sauce. The Smoky Honey Mustard sandwich has a sweet and savory flavour and is only 370 calories. Both varieties are packed with nutrients like protein, fiber, potassium, iron and Vitamins A and C.

Wendy's Canada Facebook fans can now earn 'badges' as they learn about the new Grilled Chicken Flatbreads and engage with Wendy's social community. The first two Facebook badges include the Flatbread Review Badge and the Flatbread Photo Badge. To earn a Flatbread Review Badge fans simply post a review of the new Grilled Chicken Flatbreads. The Flatbread Photo Badge can be earned by uploading a photo of the Grilled Chicken Flatbreads.
