"We're very happy" - Brown campaign reports excellent voter turn out
BRAMPTON, ON, May 3, 2015 /CNW/ - With about one hour left to cast ballots on the first day of voting in the PC Party of Ontario leadership election, voter turn out has been outstanding. Patrick Brown supporters have exceeded turn out expectations set by the campaign's "get out the vote" (GOTV) plan.
"We're very happy with what's been happening on the ground in every riding," said Robert Stanley, Patrick Brown's Leadership Campaign Manager. "We've got hundreds of GOTV volunteers working today in all 107 ridings across Ontario and we've seen thousands of identified supporters already come out to polling stations to cast their ballots."
"Today is not just about choosing a new Leader," said Patrick Brown. "It's about giving our Party the reset it needs to grow larger, more diverse and more reflective of the modern mosaic that is Ontario. It's about reconnecting our Party with its members and the people of the province. That is our path to victory over the Liberals in the next provincial election."
PC Party members across Ontario are voting today and Thursday May 7 for a new leader. The choices are clear: they can choose to continue with the same old, same old gang that has lost four elections in a row and is ready to lose more; or, members can choose to reset their Party with Patrick Brown. Brown will grow the Party to 100,000 members from every walk of life and every corner of the province – members who are closely connected to the people of Ontario. He will reconnect the leadership with members and organize the Party to win the next provincial election.
Under Patrick Brown, members will have a real voice in the priorities of their Party and their province. Ontario must become the best place to invest, to work, to visit and to raise a family. Ontario needs more affordable energy, better roads and infrastructure, less red tape and an education system that prepares graduates for jobs.
"I want to thank the thousands of volunteers and members who've come out to help their Party grow," said Brown. "We're not done yet. There are four more days to ensure a record turn out by the end of day Thursday."
"Now it comes down to the members," agreed Stanley. "The future of their Party, and of Ontario, is in their hands. As it should be."
Polling stations are located across Ontario. Members must vote at their designated polling station in or near the riding they live in. To find their designated polling station, members can call the Brown campaign at 1-844-772-8742 or visit votepatrickbrown.ca
