Western University Team Wins 3M Canada Award at 2018 Enactus Canada National Exposition
TORONTO, May 15, 2018 /CNW/ - A student group in London, Ontario has created a social enterprise that provides local employment through an initiative that collects and refurbishes gently used mobility devices to sell them to those in need at a discounted price.
Their efforts were rewarded on Monday, May 14 at the 2018 Enactus Canada National Exposition, where Western University won the award for 3M Canada Project Accelerator Best Project for Roll Up Solutions Inc.
This year, the team has refurbished 15 chairs, built an online store, created three part-time jobs for individuals with employment barriers and diverted over 1,000 pounds of waste.
