WestJet continues strategy to welcome on board guests from around the world
CALGARY, May 14, 2012 /CNW/ - WestJet announced today it has launched a code-sharing arrangement with Korean Air, the largest airline in South Korea. Tickets are available for sale as of today for flights beginning May 31, 2012.
This code-share agreement will allow Korean Air to market and distribute WestJet-operated flights by placing its "KE" flight indicator on WestJet-operated flights in North America. This will enhance the travel possibilities for Korean Air guests by allowing seamless access to over 70 flights within WestJet's North American network.
"We are very pleased to announce our agreement with Korean Air, a high quality, world-class airline," said John MacLeod, WestJet Vice-President, Network Management and Alliances. "This code-share agreement represents another key step in our strategy to welcome on board new guests from around the world".
In addition to Korean Air, WestJet now has code-share agreements with American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Delta Air Lines, Japan Airlines, and KLM. WestJet also has interline agreements with another 17 airlines around the world.
