Poor weather expected on busiest travel day of the year
CALGARY, Dec. 19, 2013 /CNW/ - In light of winter storm advisories just issued for parts of British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec, WestJet is advising guests travelling over the next few days to take steps to make their travel experience more comfortable. The advisories also come as the airline prepares to carry more than 60,000 guests on Friday, December 20, setting a new single-day record.
The following tips will go a long way toward getting guests safely across the WestJet network:
- Check westjet.com regularly for flight status and travel advisories. The website is the quickest and best source for information on flights impacted by weather.
- Leave plenty of time to get to the airport and arrive no later than two hours prior to the scheduled departure of domestic flights, and two and a half to three hours for international flights. If weather conditions worsen, plan to arrive even earlier.
- Access all available self-service options to shorten line-ups, including online check-in up to 24 hours prior to your flight, and self-service check-in and self-serve baggage tagging at an airport kiosk.
- Check out the WestJet blog for more timely winter and holiday travel tips.
