WestJetters deliver toys to sick children across Canada
CALGARY, Dec. 1 /CNW/ - WestJet this week began delivering more than 2,500 toys to 29 children's hospitals and pediatric wards in 28 cities across Canada, following another successful annual WestJet Cares for Kids Toy Drive. In addition to the Canadian cities, this year the initiative has expanded to include Nassau, Bahamas, and Montego Bay, Jamaica.
"WestJet, and more importantly, our 8,000 WestJetters, are dedicated to supporting children's health and wellness" said Richard Bartrem, WestJet Vice-President, Communications and Community Relations. "WestJet Cares for Kids is more than our flagship community investment program, caring for kids and caring for our communities is part of who we are. WestJet empowers our people to make a difference in our communities and our WestJetters can't wait to deliver the toys they collected to sick kids across Canada this holiday season."
In addition to a toy, the children and family members visited by WestJetters will also be given a special little WestJet Cares for Kids stocking. Each sock is stuffed a WestJet plane puzzle, stickers, and interactive holiday-themed games and activities.
Over the next nine days, WestJetters will visit hospitals in Abbotsford, Calgary, Charlottetown, Comox, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Grande Prairie, Halifax, Hamilton, Kamloops, Kelowna, Kitchener/Waterloo, London, Moncton, Montréal, Ottawa, Prince George, Regina, Quebec City, Saskatoon, St. John's, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Vancouver, Richmond, Victoria, Winnipeg and Yellowknife.
