What? A Healthy Stampede Breakfast? You betcha!
CALGARY, June 25, 2014 /CNW/ - Just when Calgary streets and parking lots will be lined with rows of pancake griddles, and bins of sausages, healthy-minded cowboys and cowgirls can head to the Hotel Arts on July 9 for a gourmet alternative Stampede Breakfast from 7:00 to 11:00 am.
The inspiration of Calgary's Amber Romaniuk, a nutritionist and healthy food crusader, the "Amber Approved" Stampede Breakfast will feature the sumptuous work of three top Calgary chefs at Hotel Arts, Chef Duncan Ly, Pastry Chef Karine Moulin, and Chef Craig Boje.
"Amber's Stampede breakfast is a delicious organic, gluten free, refined sugar free and dairy free breakfast that is healthy and will leave you with a new outlook on how to start your Stampede mornings!" says Chef Moulin.
One hundred seventy-five people are expected at the Hotel Arts, in the heart of Stampede action, to enjoy breakfast options that include the Stampede favorites with a healthy twist - gluten free buckwheat pancakes with real maple syrup, chicken-apple nitrate-free sausage, Veggie Frittata, Fruit Smoothies, Organic Juice Shots, Infused Waters, Amber Approved Fudge, and some other special creations by the talented chefs.
This event will attract some of Calgary's best known "foodies" as well as health conscious folks with allergies. All of the delectable offerings will be gluten free, dairy free, and sugar free.
"I'm all about creating available options for people so Stampede goers can make a healthy choice if they want to," says Romaniuk.
Her recipe book Amber Approved, was published last fall and has quickly become a hit with people seeking to avoid gluten, dairy and sugar in their meals. Amber is passionate about spreading the word that healthy food tastes terrific and improves energy and overall health.
