MONTRÉAL, June 28, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Several Montréal municipal facilities will be open over the holiday, while others will have a specific schedule, or will be closed.
Most municipal offices will be closed on July 1, 2016, including borough and Accès Montréal offices. Residents are asked to visit the borough websites at ville.montreal.qc.ca, or call 311 or 514 872-0311 for more information.
Pickup services
Pickup services for household garbage, green waste, kitchen waste, recyclables and bulky items will take place following regular schedules except in the following boroughs:
- Lachine: The garbage pickup is postponed until June 27.
- Ville-Marie: The pickups are cancelled.
- Villeray–Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension: The garbage and bulky item pickups are cancelled. The food waste pickup scheduled for Friday, July 1 in designated areas is postponed until Saturday, July 2.
Sports and cultural facilities
Arenas, swimming pools, sports centres, libraries as well as cultural centre schedules will vary according to boroughs. Residents are asked to contact personnel at these facilities to check on days and times of operation, or visit the web.
The Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard will be closed. Outdoor tennis courts will be open. Information: 514 872-6900.
The Pointe-à-Callière Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Information: 514 872-9150.
Space for Life
The Biodôme will be open according to regular schedule from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Information: 514 868-3000.
The Montréal Botanical Garden and greenhouses will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Information: 514 872-1400.
The Insectarium will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Information: 514 872-1400.
The Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium will be open according to regular schedule from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Information: 514 868-3000.

Other facilities

The Bonsecours Market (350, rue Saint-Paul Est) will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Information: 514 872-7730.
Ecocentres
The ecocentres will be open according to regular summer schedule. Please consult the Environment section on the Ville de Montréal website.
Housing reference service

Parking
Parking pay stations and meters remain operational on Canada Day, July 1, and motorists must obey parking signs.
